9 was originally a short film that was out in 2005. The current movie was directed by the same person who did the one in 2005. Shane Acker directed 9 and it was produced by Tim Burton. The stars of this movie are Elijah Wood, John C. Reilly, Jennifer Connelly, Crispin Glover, Martin Land and Christopher Plummer. This movie was the same as the academy award 9 for short films in 2005.
 

Caution Nine movie plot revealed. 

The plot behind 9 was when the economy declined the government of a totalitarianism state commissioned scientist to research ways for the nation to prosper. One scientist named Alan Oppenheimer develops a artificially intelligent brain. But before he can test it the government came and took it away from him to build the fabrication machine. It was used to make labor for people and also make machines of war. But then the fabrication machine snaps and turns against humanity and it was programed to eradicate all humans and all other forms of life. Later the scientists create some kind of rag doll hoping that it will preserve humanity and its legacy and allow life to continue. He gave these rag dolls his soul to make them come to life through this mysterious talisman object as he is about to die he gives his soul to the last doll number 9. Nine wakes up in the lab he goes exploring with the talisman object. While he was exploring he found number 2 who tells him of others like themselves before he is captured by the Cat Beast, which steals the talisman and takes 2 towards a towering factory in the distance. 9 escapes the attack and he was found by a group with number 1,5,6,8 who have been hiding to escape capture by the "catbeast". Number 7 comes and joins the group. Noticing a socket shaped like the talisman. 9 inserts the talisman into it out of curiosity. But what happened was it open and inadvertently steals number 2's soul leaving 2 lifeless. The long dormant fabrication machine wakes up and 9 as well as the others flee. Looking for answers 9 asks about the fabrication machine and about the talisman. 9 is taken to meet 3 and 4 who tell him the details about the machines past but they don't know anything about the tailsman. 5 tells 9 that 6 might have some answers and too go back to the hide out where 6 tells him they must go back to the source where the talisman secret can be found. 1 berates 9 for awakening the Fabrication Machine and argues that 9 will just lead them to more trouble. Suddenly the hideout is attacked by the "winged beast" a new machine that was made by the fabrication machine. The stitchpunks destroy the Winged Beast, though the hideout is burned down in the process. As they were looking for shelter they were attacked by a new machine the "seamstress" which kidnaps 7,8 and almost 1 they know the machines will come back. 9 sneaks into  the machine factory where he is able to save 7 and destroy the "Seamstress" but he came too late and the fabrication machine steals 8's soul. 9 and 7 escape while others ignite a barrel of gasoline and roll it into the gas filled factory. It caused the building to explode and apparently destroying the Fabrication Machine. As they celebrate 5 wanders off to find the Fabrication Machine is still active and at the last second he told them as the machine steals 5's soul. 6 told him to go back to the source. But everyone else wanted to destroy the machine. Back in the lab 9 finds a message from the scientist that tells him how to use the talisman. The other began to attack the machine. 9 returns with a plan to take the talisman back from the machine and use it to retrieve the souls. The plan was to bait himself and his soul. But 1 makes the sacrifice instead. allowing 9 to use the talisman to retrieve the souls and destroying the fabrication machine. After 9, 7, 3 and 4 set up a memorial for 1, 2, 5, 6 and 8. 9 opens the talisman and releases the souls. They scatter across the sky. And a rainstorm begins with each raindrop having a part of the scientist's soul. Leaving the future in the hands of the dolls and the spark of life renewed.

Box Office

The opening day it made #1. With $3,115,775. The opening weekend it made second behind I Can Do Bad All By Myself with approximately $10,856,000 and $15,264,000 for its 5-day opening.

Personality

Number One has a temper. He is more of a turtle. He feels safe when the group stays in one place. And he also calls himself the leader of the group. He pretty much can be called cold hearted. He cant stand weakness. he does not encourage strength or courage when its used in a ways he doesn't agree with them. At the end he learns that he must sacrifice himself to save the others and gives 9 the chance to destroy the machine.

Number Two is a old inventor who is kind. comforting. and feels a great deal of affection toward the rest of the group. He is like a father figure to 5. 2 ultimately loses his life when 9 activates the tailsman.

Number's Three and Four They are twins that don't speak but make images through their eyes. The way the communicate is they blink their eyes. One is taller and shy and the other. They also gather information. They are always curious and are quick to learn

Number Five is an engineer with a big heart. He is not as heroic as 9 because he was bossed around by 1 for so long. He finds courage with his new best friends 9 and 5. 5 is really the first one who bonded with nine. Five also lost his left eye in a battle between the humans and the machines. He is like a healer carrying around objects like needles scissors knives sewing materials, and a harpoon. He also repaired 9 and 7.

Number Six is a crazy artist. The group see 6 as deranged. Until 9 shows up with a strange contraption that matches 6's drawings. He also wears clothes that make him look clumsy. He has one eye bigger than the other his fingers are filled with ink 6 has black marks all over him because of the pens on his fingers. 9 is the only one who believed him all through the film.
 
Number Seven is a female that is tough. She is a warrior she uses a duel bladed spear. She also has a birds skull as a mask. She is a rebel and fearless. She has a steady head in the face of fear she can also be called stubborn. She is also a doll and broke away from the group long ago. She disagreed with 1 he just wanted to hide but she wanted to destroy it. Everyone sees her as scary when she saws off the   "cat beasts" head. 7 cares about the group. She sometimes comes out of no where to save the group. 9 saves her man times and loves her. At the end they both love each other.
 
Number Eight is the body guard for 1. He is tough he is not the smartest out of the batch but he is like the protector of the group. He is kind of a bully. 8 has a huge blade with him. And when he was caught by the "seamstress" he druged himself at the last second.

Number Nine is the main character. He was the last to be created by the scientist. He is very pure. He make the others feel comfortable. He is a natural leader. He gains the respect of most of the group. He is also very curious and it does not go well when he first awakened the machine. 9 is the highest quality of the dolls according to 2. He molded wood and copper to recreate his hands while the other have more scrap than anything. He just seems more of a high quality than the others.
